Laurie Babin is studying full time this fall to complete her baccalaureate in literature at McGill. Before returning to school, however, she filmed the second season of the thriller Black Lakein which his inexperienced werewolf character has everything to learn.
Her character Jade accidentally bit her boyfriend Dave (Anthony Therrien) and turned him into a werewolf. She knew nothing regarding her condition because her late mother, Maryse (Louise Cardinal), was medicating her with the help of Dr. Morot (Marie-Evelyne Lessard) to prevent her from turning into a bloodthirsty beast. However, as she stopped her medication… Dave became a beast in his turn.

Jade feels guilty and grieves for her mother in this sequel directed by Frédérik D’Amours, who once once more shared the pen with authors Charles Dionne and Martin Girard.
As the young woman has inherited the family summer camp, she will have to decide what she does with this property that the dangerous mayor Conrad Cochrane (Andreas Apergis) covets.
“At first, Jade refuses to sell to Mayor Conrad. As we got a glimpse at the end of season 1, Conrad wants to make it a hunting camp for werewolves,” said the 25-year-old actress, who we met in the series. The EscapeVAT.
In the first season, Laurie Babin had a lot to do with playing her character’s love at first sight with Dave. This time, his score is denser. “There is more tension with Dave because of his transformation into a werewolf. It affects his mood a lot. It really changes the dynamic. They still love each other, but we are no longer in the first butterflies.

In fact, she feels guilty for having dragged her boyfriend into this life and she also has to take care of her brother Victor (Maxime Gibeault), who has been locked in a bunker since the age of 10. The Werewolf Senate sentenced him to death and has been looking for him all this time.
And with a full moon approaching, Jade is worried regarding turning into a werewolf for the very first time. Jade and Dave will lock themselves in the same cage – to avoid sowing death in their path – an experience which will not necessarily go well.
Transition
For the actress, it is a period of transition towards more mature roles. We will see her in the third season of the youth series The complicated life of Léa Olivier on Club illico, which was filmed a while ago, but in addition she is increasingly embracing young adult roles, having started her career at the age of 14 in Tactikin 2012.
“I’m too old now to play a teenager like in The Escapebut too young to play a mother,” summarized the interpreter seen recently in The night Laurier Gaudreault woke upby Xavier Dolan, on Club illico, and who shines in the film The red roomsby Pascal Plante, which is a hit at festivals all over the world.
