The market of Patras has been moving in Black Friday rhythms since yesterday and officially, as the department stores that have extended the time frame of the offers to a week, raised their offers in the e-shops.
This year, however, there is a significant difference. The Black Friday market has come under the microscope of DIMEAwhich collects the required data, which it is processing, and will soon competently promote its relevant findings.
A source from the Ministry of Development specifically said that “this year’s Black Friday will be completely different than previous years.”
Consumer deception phenomena with “inflating” prices in the last days before Black Friday, so that the offers that will appear afterwards are impressive, have been recorded in previous years and even in large chains.
He also points out these risks the president of the Patras Trade Association Kostas Zafeiropoulos, who states that store offers will range between 20% and 50%warning that offers of 70% and 80% don’t exist, it’s out of the sly and it would be good for the consumer to research well before deciding on their purchases. As well as the fact that large multinationals, under the guise of Black Friday, are extending their offers, reaching the limits of unfair competition.
The “Commercial Renewal” faction also points out the same which emphasizes how Black Friday in recent years, and especially this year, has turned into an informal sales period of several days, with the “big men” of the retail trade adopting unfair tactics, as evidenced by the fines imposed by the Ministry of Development on large chains for misleading discounts.
“We urge consumers to do their market research before shopping, to trust and support local businesses. Local shops offer high-quality services and products, and at the same time, money stays in our city.”
