The eagerly anticipated month of Black Friday has officially arrived, bringing with it a wave of irresistible sales from numerous retailers. This year, tech and gaming products are in high demand during the Black Friday event, with Xbox deals promising to impress, given the buzz from previous sales.

Although the official Black Friday date is set for Friday, 29 November, major retailers like Argos, John Lewis, and AO have already begun rolling out enticing discounts. Furthermore, Amazon is poised to slash prices starting from 21 November, while Nintendo has also initiated discounts on various Nintendo Switch bundles.

If you have your eyes set on purchasing an Xbox Series X, Series S, or some new Xbox accessories or games during this Black Friday, you’ll be pleased to know that some early discounts are already available. Here’s a detailed rundown of what to expect regarding Xbox deals for Black Friday, alongside key dates and savings.

Start Dates for Xbox Black Friday Deals in 2024

To clarify, Black Friday traditionally occurs on the Friday following Thanksgiving in the US, which means this year’s major shopping event will commence on Friday, 29 November, and continue with Cyber Monday promotions until 2 December.

However, the shopping landscape has evolved, and Black Friday now extends well beyond a single day or even a weekend; it spans an entire month, with many retailers having commenced their price reductions at the start of November.

Despite that, there hasn’t been a surge of early Xbox Black Friday deals just yet – although they are expected imminently. Last year, Xbox unveiled its Black Friday offers on Wednesday, 15 November, with the deals going live just two days later on Friday, 17 November.

Should Xbox stick to this same timeline for Black Friday 2024, we could anticipate an announcement on Wednesday, 13 November, with deals going live shortly thereafter. Retailers like Amazon are likely to launch their competitive Xbox offers around the same time to capture consumer interest.

Anticipated Xbox Deals for Black Friday 2024

This Black Friday, I expect a plethora of enticing new Xbox bundles at heavily discounted prices. Last year, discounts reached up to £100 off bundles for the Xbox Series X and Series S, along with significant savings of up to 20 percent on the Xbox wireless controller. Moreover, first-party Microsoft titles saw impressive cuts, with discounts soaring up to 75 percent.

Don’t overlook other retailers during this shopping event. Amazon, for instance, previously offered remarkable savings on the Xbox Series X console.

Last year, the price of this console plummeted by a staggering £120, bringing it down to a mere £359 – marking its lowest price ever. Additionally, Amazon featured a bundle deal for the Xbox Series X paired with Diablo 4 for just £389, along with another enticing bundle that included Forza Horizon 5 and the premium edition of Starfield for just £454.98, culminating in a sizeable £145 discount.

Microsoft also made waves earlier this summer by launching a more affordable, all-digital version of the Xbox Series X in a robot white design, equipped with 1TB of storage, along with a fresh robot white Xbox Series S. Given these are merely updated color variations rather than entirely new consoles, I’m optimistic that both will receive discounts this Black Friday.

Can’t-Miss Xbox Deals Available Now

(Amazon)

The Xbox Series X stands as the mightiest gaming console crafted by Microsoft. Its large cuboid design is impressively silent while delivering performance comparable to high-end gaming PCs, ensuring games load almost instantaneously and menus pop up in mere moments. Currently, you can save nearly £25 on this powerful console at Amazon.

Xbox wireless controller, deep pink: Was £59.99, now £35.95, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

Grab a £25 discount on the Xbox wireless controller in stunning deep pink, available now at Amazon. While each Xbox Series X and Series S comes with one controller included, an additional controller is essential for a fun couch co-op experience with friends. “The standard official Xbox wireless controller is ideal for most users,” noted our reviewer, praising its good feel, textured grips on triggers, and bumpers for a superior tactile gaming experience.”

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, three-month subscription: Was £32.99, now £21.99, Cdkeys.com

(Xbox)

Launched back in 2017, Game Pass is Xbox’s revolutionary take on gaming subscriptions akin to Netflix. This service provides players access to a vast library of hundreds of games, including new releases available on launch day, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Subscribers benefit from online multiplayer access, EA Play, and cloud gaming options on PCs. Currently, a three-month subscription boasts an impressive £11 discount at CD Keys.

‘Death Stranding Director’s Cut’: Was £34.99, now £17.49, Xbox.com

(Xbox)

After five long years, Death Stranding has finally made its way to Xbox, with Xbox slashing its price in half to mark this momentous occasion. “Death Stranding is probably the most profound and thoughtful game ever made, more rich and more powerful than anything before. It is also one of the toughest, requiring hard work, loneliness and trudge,” articulated our tech editor in his original review of the game. “But if the game means nothing else then it is this: it is in that hard work that meaning is made.”
