Specializing in entry-level smartphones, the Poco (Xiaomi) brand is back today with the Poco M4 Pro. A 5G device which does not lack advantages and which has every intention of becoming a benchmark in this price segment in 2022.
The Poco M4 Pro is an affordable and pleasant smartphone to use. It has a good LCD screen – once calibrated – and a very comfortable battery life. Its chip allows it to enjoy a fluid experience in multitasking, but it quickly shows its limits in video games. Its photo performance is limited, but will be suitable for occasional use in good light conditions. The competition is serious, but this Poco M4 Pro remains a good choice around 200 €.
Points forts
- Good quality finish.
- Good LCD screen (once calibrated).
- Efficient multitasking SoC.
- Very good battery life and relatively fast charging.
Weak points
- No waterproof certification.
- Not really made for gaming.
- Failed night photos.
- Slightly messy interface.
NB: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day with the average of the lowest prices charged by all merchants for the product last month, with security rules to exclude prices from shops whose the VAT policy is not clear (known as “grey” shops, typically in the case of imports from China).
An alternative
After a half-hearted Note 10 series, Xiaomi is recovering with this Redmi Note 11. The entry-level smartphone from the Chinese firm is a good proposition for those who need a terminal that can do everything, without necessarily excelling. Without performing a miracle, this model corrects a passable photo component in its predecessor and offers a good Oled panel. Finally, its autonomy is very correct in 60 Hz or 90 Hz.
