“Bkerke is a problem” … “fiery” responses to Al-Amin!

The “provocative” words of the editor-in-chief of “Al-Akhbar” newspaper, Ibrahim Al-Amin, in which he dealt with “Bkerke and the Maronite Church”, aroused the discontent of a number of politicians.

Ibrahim Al-Amin said, yesterday evening, Tuesday, in an interview with Al-Jadeed channel: “There is a problem more important than the problem of Hezbollah’s weapons in Lebanon, and it is a problem called Bkerke.”

He added, “In my opinion, Lebanon’s problem is the Maronite Church.”

Al-Amin added that “there are parties, inside or outside, who are asking the Lebanese today that they will withhold aid and development from Lebanon if it does not get rid of the resistance’s weapons.”

He continued, “This country is ungrateful towards people who sacrificed, fought and expelled Israel, and the resistance represents every Lebanese who wants his country to be liberated.”

Ibrahim Al-Amin’s words elicited responses from a number of politicians, and the following are some of them:

Resigned MP Nadim Gemayel said: “Bkerke is a problem, Bkerke’s toughness is a problem in the face of the occupier, Bkerke’s strength is a problem in the face of the “terrorist”, Bkerke’s patriotism is a problem in the face of the client, Bkerke’s project is a problem, in the face of those who want nothing but ruin and destruction for Lebanon!”

He added, “A Lebanese woman in Bkerke was a problem in the face of the Ottomans, the Palestinians, and the Syrians, and today she faces the Iranians!”

Representative Shawqi Daccache affirmed, “Glory to God, O Bkerke, glory to the Maronite Church, glory to your boldness.”

He added, “You remain in the heart of Kesrouan for the sake of all of Lebanon, carrying the torch of freedom and sovereignty.”

And he continued, “As for the minor ones, they are in the dustbin of history.”

For his part, the deputy head of the Kataeb Party, former minister Salim al-Sayegh, said: “Yes, Bkerke, and the Church has a big problem in the face of Hezbollah’s project that abolishes the Lebanese identity.”

He added, “What you do not know is that the Church is not an institution, but a people, a nation, and values, and if you transgress once morest it, then you are transgressing once morest the sacred! And the sacred fire is piercing and burning! Beware!”
