New Delhi ∙ BJP has given the election charge to Tonk, Rajasthan’s MP Ramesh Bidudi, who made communal remarks in the Lok Sabha. The decision follows rumors that Congress leader Sachin Pilot may contest from Tonk. Elections to the 200-member assembly in Rajasthan will be held later this year. Bidudi made communal remarks once morest BSP MP Danish Ali.
Following opposition from the opposition, Bidudi’s remarks were removed from the church records. BJP leaders had also condemned the incident. Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh and others demanded the suspension of Bidudi. Danish Ali responded that this is an attack on the constitution and democracy. The BJP had issued a show cause notice to Bidudi in the incident.
