Chennai: A BJP district secretary has been arrested in Tamil Nadu for allegedly setting fire to his own car. BJP Tiruvallur West district secretary Satish Kumar’s car caught fire on the night of the 14th of this month. But his family complained to the police that the car was set on fire by someone else. The car was parked in front of a house in Maduravoyal area of ​​Chennai. The dramatic moves behind the car burning came to light when police checked the CCTV footage.

CCTV footage shows a man in a white shirt approaching a car parked on the roadside and inspecting the car. Within seconds, another man in dark clothes was seen pouring or spraying something into the car and then setting it on fire.

Neighbors and Satish Kumar’s relatives fled following the car caught fire. They also informed the police. As soon as the petrol bomb was thrown, the police immediately spread its investigation into the event.

After checking the CCTV footage nearby, the police came to know that the person who set the car on fire was similar to Satish Kumar. When questioned, he confessed to setting the car on fire.

Satish Kumar told police that his wife had been pressuring him to buy gold jewelery for some time. But he did not have the money to buy gold. His wife also forced him to sell the car. Satheesh then set fire to the car, took out the insurance money and planned to give a gift to his wife. But the nearby CCTV turned everything upside down. Satish Kumar, who was arrested, was later released by the police.
