With simple voice commands made possible by the interconnectivity of the Samsung ecosystem, solutions promote a smarter home routine
To promote unique experiences at home, Bixby, Samsung’s Artificial Intelligence voice assistant, integrates with the SmartThings app and responds to simple voice commands that make the home routine smarter, more efficient and more enjoyable.
With the incorporation of the Samsung ecosystem by SmartThings, the brand’s application created especially for the management and control of several devices that have Smart technology, the voice assistant enables the management of a connected home, through the optimization of domestic devices. Thus, tasks such as adjusting the temperature in the room, turning on an appliance or configuring appliances become even simpler.
To start exploring integrating the best of both worlds, just say “Hi Bixby” to activate it and then start prompting for other commands.
Some commands for your day to day
There are many ways to use Bixby in a connected home. On Samsung Smart TV, for example, with the voice registered on the remote control, just say “Hi Bixby”[1] to activate the voice assistant and then “turn on the bedroom TV” (or another room). Then “watch ABC video on YouTube” (specifying the name of the program and the channel to search for it), to play your favorite content.
To go further, within a scenario where smart devices have been incorporated, say the command “movie time” (example), and the Smart TV lighting and sound settings2 will be adjusted. To access this command, in addition to configuring it on Bixby as a “quick command”, it is possible to configure it through the SmartThings application. In this case, it will be necessary to create a specific scenario in the application, which works similarly to Bixby, that is, selecting the smart devices and defining the commands that will be linked to this main request.
Thus, with Bixby and SmartThings³, among other very useful functions, the user can also ask to turn on the air conditioner – or other devices. Say “Turn the air conditioner on in cooling mode” – or heating, whichever you prefer.
Another option is to request quick commands, such as the word “work” or “home”, which will make Bixby turn on Wi-Fi or put your cell phone on silent, for example. In that case, you can configure the keywords that make the most sense to you.
