As part of a significant network infrastructure upgrade, “Bite Latvija“, a leading provider of electronic interaction and ICT services in Latvia, is set to invest approximately €20 million in network progress in 2025. This ambitious investment includes the launch of 5G+ internet service for both residential and business customers.
The company, led by General Director arunas Mickevicius, will continue expanding its network coverage in both urban and rural areas, as well as along major highways, aiming to provide 5G access to 85% of Latvia’s population by the end of the year. Expanding Network Coverage and Capacity
Bite Latvija’s 2025 infrastructure development plan includes the construction of 60 new 5G base stations in previously underserved areas across Latvia, and the modernization of 210 existing base stations with the latest ericsson technology. By the end of the year, the company will have a network of 1,160 base stations, with 836 of them operating on the 5G network. this strategic network expansion will ensure strong capacity and coverage across the country, reaching even smaller towns and villages such as Kandava, the surroundings of Krāslava, and Lesten.

Bite Latvija is also committed to enhancing its existing ICT service portfolio. This year, 10% of the optical network will be modernized, increasing internet speeds to 1 Gbit/s in areas that previously lacked this level of connectivity. This commitment to network improvement is part of Bite Latvija’s ongoing strategy to provide customers with the best possible internet experience.

For our mobile customers, we’ve seen a 100% increase in 5G mobile internet consumption compared to last year.This clearly demonstrates the growing demand for faster and more reliable internet.
