A dangerous incident occurred on Thursday night in Bischofshofen. A drunk attacked his neighbor with a saber.
According to a police report, a 28-year-old, heavily drunk local in Bischofshofen attacked his 49-year-old neighbor following allegedly hearing his girlfriend’s voice from his balcony.
Driven by jealousy and armed with a saber, the 28-year-old first rang the doorbell of his neighbor’s apartment. When his son opened the door, he broke into the apartment, drew his saber and tried to run into the bedroom.
Although the apartment owner managed to push the attacker out of the apartment into the stairwell, the 28-year-old pushed the 49-year-old down the stairs of the apartment building. The 49-year-old suffered some cuts and scrapes and had to be treated at the Kardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic in Schwarzach.
Several officers from the police in Bischofshofen, Werfen and the rapid intervention group in Salzburg arrested the attacker. He is reported to the Salzburg public prosecutor’s office.
