In Carinthia, a case of bird flu was confirmed in a private chicken farmer in the Villach-Land district. Five chickens showed symptoms of illness in early January and were sent for examination.
The Carinthian state press service reported on Thursday regarding a confirmed case of bird flu in a hobby chicken farmer. In early January, five chickens became ill and had to be killed due to their deteriorating health. After checking at the state institute for veterinary examinations, the suspicion of bird flu was confirmed.
