Biomethane: BTS invests 90 million, new agreement with AB to build 10 plants

BTS Group and AB strengthen their partnership with a new agreement for the development and construction of ten plants for the production of biomethane. For BTS this would be an investment of approximately 90 million. The collaboration between the operator based in Brunico (Bolzano) active in the construction and management of biogas and biomethane plants, and the company from Orzinuovi (Brescia) which develops solutions in the cogeneration, biofuels, biogas and biomethane sector, involves the construction of new plants or the upgrading of existing sites (a process that allows the refining of biogas to biomethane), in Italy, for a total production capacity of 30 million cubic meters per year, as well as cooperation on further potential projects in the near future.

Strongly growing sector

«The growth of the BTS Group, which in addition to the construction now also deals with the management of plants for the production of biomethane in Italy and Europe through the newly created BTS DevCo, finds in the collaboration with AB, an international point of reference for quality for decades technological as well as for the capillarity and professionalism of its service, the perfect combination in a sector that will undergo strong growth in the coming years”, reads a note from the two operators, who have calculated how the biomethane production of the ten plants will allow savings of approximately 63 thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.

Franco Lusuriello and Angelo Baronchelli

«The path towards climate and energy sustainability also passes through the biomethane sector which in Italy can count on international excellence, like us and AB. BTS has chosen the best upgrading technology and the best service on the national and international market, that of AB, to be able to develop efficient and sustainable plants from an energy, economic and environmental point of view in the coming years”, commented Franco Lusuriello, CEO of BTS.
