Shock for a German family of entrepreneurs: son Alexander T.* († 38) is dead. He was found lifeless in a luxury hotel in Zurich on January 10th. How this came regarding is still unclear. “As usual with such deaths, the public prosecutor’s office, together with the police, is investigating the circumstances that led to the man’s death,” the Zurich public prosecutor’s office told Blick.
The authority does not want to provide any further information because the process is ongoing. Just this much: “According to the current status of the investigation, there was no reason to arrest anyone.”
Especially known in the art scene
The family of the deceased became wealthy from household goods. The exact fortune is not known. Estimates go up to one billion euros. This makes them one of the richest in Germany.
None of the family members were still actively involved in the business – they left years ago. The T. family, however, might always be seen at public events and otherwise moved in the best circles. The family members are particularly well connected in the art scene. Not least because Alexander T.’s mother is known as a passionate art collector. The family has not commented on the tragic loss, as “Bild” reports. (jmh)
