[Sports Road News]The final round of the 2022 World Snooker Championship qualifiers being held in Sheffield will be staged on Tuesday (12th). Chinese star Ding Junhui won six games in a row and won 10:7 following falling behind 4:7. David Lilley, the veteran world champion, has once once more entered Crucible through the qualifiers following 2016, and has qualified for the world championship for 16 consecutive years in his career.

Ding Junhui, ranked 29th in the world, started from the third round of this World Championships. He recently beat Tian Pengfei 6:4 to win the “China Derby” and advanced to the final round of 10 best of 19 games. Facing the 46-year-old England veteran, “Xiao Ding” hit a “Break Hundred” in the first stage, only 4:5, and in the second stage, he lost 2 games in a row and was pulled to 4:7. Fortunately, he recovered in time. In the hand, he went down six cities in a row, completed the reversal with 10:7, and appeared in the main game for 16 consecutive years without any risk.

Ding Junhui said following the game: “When I was behind at 4:7, I even felt that I mightn’t score a single ball. At that time, the opponent’s hand was very good, but when I chased following 7:7, he started to make mistakes. Better than before, don’t give him a chance to play. I’m doing a lot better now than before Christmas, and I believe I can get back to my best form.”

The last time Ding Junhui qualified for the main competition through the qualifying competition dates back to 2016, but that year he achieved the personal best of the runner-up in the World Championships. Can this process be replicated following 6 years? “This is a very funny mode. I also want to play better and better like last time, but the state is not able to play in a day or two. Many times I don’t play well in the first and second rounds, and I will get better later. Come as soon as possible, to improve your on-the-spot competitive status.”

In addition to Ding Junhui, another Chinese player, Lv Haotian, also beat Dominic Dale of Wales 10-4 to advance to the main match of the World Championships held from April 16 to May 2.
