Bill Belichick hasn’t lost the sting of coachingdespite the end of an exceptional 24-season stay at the helm of the New England Patriots.

The 71-year-old instructor has already established channels of communication with teams interested in his services, and on Monday, it was the Atlanta Falcons who offered him a job interview.

At least that’s what informant Adam Schefter of the network reports ESPN.

Tom Pelissero, de NFL Networkwrites that Belichick “recently met with Falcons owner Arthur Blank in person.”

Belichick is the sixth candidate interviewed by the Falcons, following Mike Macdonald, Steve Wilks, Brian Callahan, Ejiro Evero and Anthony Weaver.

After a third consecutive 7-10 campaign, Atlanta fired head coach Arthur Smith at the end of the 17th and final week of the regular season.

Pelissero went on to say that no deal between Belichick and the Falcons is imminent, but that “the interest is mutual.”

Belichick and his Pats defeated the Falcons in Super Bowl LI following trailing 28-3, a loss that still haunts Georgia fans to this day.
