Bill 77.19, approving the agreement between Morocco and the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) on automated banking exchange, will be examined by the deputies. The text is on the agenda of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, National Defence, Islamic Affairs and MREs, during its meeting on August 18, 2023 from 1 p.m. This bill was submitted, for the first time, to the same committee under the House of Representatives on August 7, 2020.

This review comes as the Moroccan government has tried to reassure the Moroccan community living abroad with property and assets in Morocco. “Currently, there is nothing that can worry a Moroccan, wherever he is, in any part of the world. There is nothing that could harm the rights and the situation of Moroccans around the world”, indicated, during a press briefing Thursday, July 13 in Rabat, the Minister of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson , Mustapha Baitas.

Morocco acceded, on June 25, 2019, to the OECD Convention on the automatic exchange of information relating to financial accounts.
