In a video broadcast for the first time on LCN late Sunday followingnoon, the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, addressed Quebecers to explain why he wanted to move forward with his bill 15.

“We have given ourselves a new tool to make our health and social services service much more human and much more efficient,” he says from the outset.
Mr. Dubé also indicates that numerous health professionals in the field as well as numerous reports were consulted in the development of the bill.
“We put our vision on paper with our health plan,” he adds. One of the important elements of the health plan was to revise the law on health and social services. That’s why with Bill 15, we are really tackling the heart of the health system problem to make it more efficient, but also to respect the commitment we made. We do it for the patient and for the employees.”

Quebecers should expect several changes that will be felt on the ground over the coming months.
“The creation of Santé Québec will bring regarding a lot of changes and the commitment I am making today is to make this transformation gradually and with all the transparency necessary so that you feel confident during the coming months,” says the minister.
Bill 15 was adopted under gag order early Saturday morning following approximately 15 hours of discussions in the National Assembly.
