A private dispute is at the origin of a case involving members of two different biker gangs, confirmed by press release the Tournai prosecutor’s office.
The facts took place in downtown Tournai during the evening and night from Sunday to Monday.
”Thanks to the rapid and effective intervention of the intervention service of the Tournaisis police zone, the confrontation did not take place, but allowed the arrest of thirteen people who were deprived of their freedom”said Frédéric Bariseau, first deputy public prosecutor of Mons-Tournai.
“The file was put under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for criminal associations and the possession of prohibited weapons in particular. Hearings were conducted by the SER of the Tournai police zone as well as searches, with the significant support of the PJF Mons-Tournai.
Several objects, which might be used to fight it out, were seized during the arrests and searches.
“Three people were presented on Tuesday before the examining magistrate who charged them and released them under conditions.”
The first substitute took advantage of the press release to underline the excellent collaboration between the internal services of the police zone of Tournai as well as with the police zones of Mouscron, Péruwelz, Ath and the federal police (WPR).
