The prefect of police Didier Lallement announced on Tuesday that he had seized the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) and requested the suspension of a police officer as a precaution. The latter is suspected of having insulted a complainant victim of sexual assault on February 5 in Paris, according to the revelations of Mediapart who publishes an audio recording.
“The prefect of police strongly condemns the inadmissible remarks made by a police officer with regard to a victim of sexual assault of which he became aware”, can we read in particular in the press release published Tuesday at 2:39 p.m.

This announcement follows the revelations of Mediapart, half an hour earlier. In an article titled “Big whore”: the insult of a police officer regarding a complainant for sexual assaultthe investigative media reveals a recording in which a police officer is heard insulting on his answering machine a 34-year-old woman who had just filed a complaint for sexual assault, in a message left inadvertently.

The message was left on the victim’s answering machine on February 5 in the early followingnoon – the official wanted the complainant to return to the police station. It comes hours following the woman filed a complaint for an alleged sexual assault in Paris. “Fuck, she refuses the confrontation and more, the whore. As if by chance. In fact, it was just to break his balls”, says this policeman from the 5th and 6th arrondissements of Paris, before concluding with a “Fuck, big whore”.

While the police headquarters seized the IGPN, and that the official concerned must be suspended as a precaution, the complainant was heard by the general inspectorate of the national police on Tuesday, according to Mediapart, which specifies that she has filed a complaint for insults.
