Mr. Thanakorn said that BIMSTEC is a multidisciplinary academic and economic cooperation framework between seven countries in the Bay of Bengal, namely Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Mr. Thanakorn said that attending this meeting, the Prime Minister, as the representative of Thailand will join the ceremony to accept the BIMSTEC chairmanship for Thailand and watch the video launching the chairmanship, where Thailand will be BIMSTEC Chair for a 2-year term from 2021-2022, following Sri Lanka The issues that Thailand wants to push during the presidency include supporting economic recovery following the Covid-19 epidemic.
