One more week until the transfer window closes for good, and there might still be movement across the league. In the latest rumors, we find in particular that of a deal set up between the Bulls, Celtics and Jazz! That would have something to stir up the news of the orange ball.
Surprise winners of the Hornets (133-107), the Celtics are however far from going well. Still ninth in the Eastern Conference (28-25), Jayson Tatum & co. are still in the hunt for the playoffs, but they’re heading more towards the Play-In right now. Not really what the Greens and Whites were hoping for, who are having a very mediocre start to the season and must now mount a reassembled operation.
For this, it may well be that the leaders operate some changes, by the trade deadline. There are quite a few rumors floating around regarding Bean Town, with few players being considered untransferable. Two candidates seem to be the obvious choice: Dennis Schröder and Josh Richardson. Both holders of short contracts, they are among the rare satisfactions of the roster and therefore have a certain value on the market.
Dennis Schröder sent to Chicago?
By separating from them, the Celtics would therefore have the opportunity to recover an interesting player, or to free up space in the roster. And according to the Bleacher Report, someone might be interested. As Jake Fischer explains, Chicago has reportedly expressed interest in the German, while Utah is cited as a potential landing spot for Richardson. What to give rise to a three-team exchange?

In other Celtics talk, Boston continues to look for drop spots for point guard Dennis Schröder and winger Josh Richardson. Rumor has it that Schröder would be traded to the Chicago Bulls for Troy Brown Jr. and a second-round pick swirled around the league, while the Utah Jazz were constantly mentioned as a possible destination for Richardson.
Of course, nothing is done at this precise moment and the franchises have in no way confirmed these remarks. However, we can already look into the question in order to formulate hypotheses. Schröder would be a very interesting alternative to Lonzo Ball for the Bulls, especially since he is not expensive this year. Brown Jr. will be eligible for a qualifying offer this summer, but the C’s are not obliged to offer it and would thus free up a spot in the roster.
On the Jazz side, Richardson would bring a more than correct scorer/defendant role on the wings and would be a very good contribution. However, it remains to be seen what they might send in return. Boston was interested in the services of Joe Ingles, but the latter has just crossed paths and is therefore no longer an option. We will therefore have to find someone else to sacrifice for the Mormons, 4ᵉ in the West currently (31-21).
A lot of discussion therefore regarding this potential big trade, remains to be seen whether the three franchises mentioned will really give it a shot. This kind of case, however, would have something to spice things up a bit, Chicago notably recovering a potential X factor for the playoffs.
