Big scandal in the league: “He lied about his age. He was 30, not 21! »

Fanatics View (DR) / NBA (DR)

Subjects of many rumors on a daily basis, NBA players know how to remain indifferent to them, and not get carried away with every lie uttered regarding them. One of them nevertheless unpinned following being the subject of a dirty talk… regarding his age!

It all started with a simple exchange between JJ Redick and Kendrick Perkins on the antennas of ESPN, concerning the title chances of the Celtics. A subject that led the ex-Thunder interior to return to the dynasty that was promised to the franchise 10 years ago, and which prompted him to deliver an astonishing outing on… Serge Ibaka:

Everyone kept saying, “Kevin Durant is only 23 years old. Russell Westbrook is only 22 years old. James Harden is also 22 years old. Serge Ibaka is only 21 years old,” even though he must have been 30 at the time, because we know that some people lie regarding their age. But we’re not going to go into that.

Serge Ibaka pissed off following the crazy accusations regarding his age

Came across this crazy rumor swayed by his former partner in the Oklahoma City racket, Ibaka unsurprisingly did not appreciate it at all. On Twitter, he reacted strongly to the footage, openly criticizing Perk:

Hey @KendrickPerkins, I don’t usually react to comments regarding me. But it’s disappointing to hear someone I shared a dressing room with spreading false information to gain importance and ratings on TV and on the networks.

You can talk regarding my game if I play badly, I will never have any problem with that. But throwing that out for no reason is really not acceptable. It is disrespectful to me, and I feel it is also disrespectful to many Africans who have to live with these unfounded accusations.

If I was 30 at OKC, would that mean I’m 45 now? The truth is, I’ve never lied regarding my age, I work extremely hard every day without cheating, and I’ve never been suspended. Everyone in the league knows that. You cheated and you didn’t respect the game.

Although I’m disappointed, I’m not surprised to see such actions taken by someone who got his job breaking the locker room code and spreading lies regarding two of his former teammates and brothers like KD and Russian.

When KD had a bad game, you criticized him behind his back. Same with Russ. You weren’t a locker room leader, and you continued to do the same thing followingwards in the media.

I understand that everyone has to do their job and take care of their family, but you are proof that not everyone knows how to do it with class and dignity. I have more things to throw at you, but I’m not that kind of person. But this time, you’ve gone too far.

A tirade to which the former pivot converted analyst was content to respond with a simple, shattering message:

Bro, that was a fucking joke. Stop being so fucking touchy.

Targeted by lunar accusations by Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka did not take this statement from his ex-teammate as a joke at all. Result, following Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the analyst seems to have alienated another former Thunder!
