Available since May 2, Redfall did not really convince the crowds and was released in a very questionable state. A little over a month following its launch, Arkane Austin today unveils a first big update.
Update 1.1 is available
This 1.1 update is colossal and fixes a lot of problems. Whether it’s gameplay, AI, performance, multiplayer, accessibility or even the interface, all areas are concerned in order to considerably improve the player experience.
You will find below the complete patch note in French with the details of the fixes. The studio ensures for its part to continue to work to improve the game, and that this big update will be followed by other patches.
More information on future updates, including the arrival of the 60 FPS Performance mode on Xbox Series X|S, will be given soon.
Remember that Redfall is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC, as well as in Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Gameplay
- Increased the spawn rate of enemies in the open world.
- Improved aiming visibility (ADS) when looking through the sights of a sniper rifle.
- Breakable panes now break on the first impact of all rifles.
- When using additional ammo storage skills, ammo collected beyond the weapon’s standard capacity will now persist between play sessions.
- Players can move uninterrupted when performing melee attacks once morest enemies.
- Bribón no longer remains inactive following performing the Siren skill.
- Devinder’s Translocation ability is now more reliable when used in the Black Sun boss arena.
- Updated several mission descriptions and summaries in all languages.
- Nests now unlock at the correct time when playing New Game Plus mode
- Added medical supplies to the path to the Bloody Tom boss arena.
- General mission fixes and improvements
Combat
- Fixed several cases of enemies not reacting in combat.
- Improved Vampire melee attacks to increase chance of hitting moving players.
- Cultists and Bellwether enemies have received general improvements to their combat behavior, including faster reaction times.
- The Tower is now more relentless and now hunts down all living party members.
- Tower lightning no longer hits players through rooftops or in other unexpected situations.
AI and NPC
- General improvements to human enemy navigation, including animation timing and responsiveness.
- Sleeping Vampires are now more likely to wake up from player-generated noises.
- Enemies are now pulled towards the biggest threat during combat. It can be a player, Bribón or an opposing enemy faction.
- Improved enemy pathing options in open areas of both districts.
- Added mouth blood to other variants of vampire faces.
Environment
- Players are more likely to encounter additional and varied enemies as they explore the open world.
- Enemies can no longer shoot through some fire station walls.
- The Vampire Nest Exit Door now correctly appears in the Dockyard Core instance.
- Improved many instances of remote visual issues, including material and model adjustments.
- Mission briefing sequences are brighter.
- Improved lighting and audio processing in many interior spaces in both districts
- Updated Skybox to avoid extreme star flicker
- General improvements to collision detection and object placement in both districts.
Performance and stability
- Fixed an issue that caused some decal textures to not fully load, causing them to look blurry.
- Addressed several situations where players might experience an infinite loading screen.
- Improved framerate performance in Bloody Tom and Miss Whisper psychic spaces and boss arenas.
- Players can now switch the accessibility menu to a new, unlinked bethesda.net account.
- Improved lighting performance in Psychic Spaces
- Blood pool reflections no longer flicker excessively.
- Optimized the number of VFX particles, emitters, and spawn rates for the following effects:
- Enemy shield and inspiration effects
- Fire and Smoke Effects at Bladewell Campgrounds
- Effects of hero abilities, including Layla’s umbrella and Jacob’s heart stopping
- Bloody Tom’s snap effect and Miss Whisper’s death effects.
- Floating Dust Particle Effects
- Grave Lock Effects
- Psychic Echoes
- Nest Area of Influence Effects
- Placement effects of Underboss skulls on Vampire Gods pedestals
- Blood Tree Disintegration Effects
- Optimized memory usage when using Jacob’s Raven ability
- Black Sun clothing no longer makes blue materials animated.
- General stability improvements
Multiplayer
- Increased chance of encountering enemies with special stats during multiplayer sessions.
- General improvements to the stability and functionality of multiplayer lobbies.
Accessibility
- The left and right movement keys can now be replaced with the “left” and “right” arrow keys to improve movement control for left-handers.
- Players with existing game saves will need to reset their default mouse and keyboard settings in the settings menu before attempting to reassign movement keys to arrow keys.
- On-screen narration supports additional avenues for critical communication between players:
- Invitations and friend requests
- Join a multiplayer lobby
- Clients leaving a multiplayer lobby
- “Invalid username or password” error.
- Additional bethesda.net menu screens
- Updated the status of disabled UI elements once players are ready in a multiplayer lobby.
- The “Let the game play for me” option on first launch on Xbox Series X|S is now enabled.
- Adjusted the timing of multiple subtitles so they display in the correct order.
- On-screen narration settings are now persisted between game sessions.
- Added missing audio cues for Friends List section headers and Play Game button.
- Adjusted text size scaling for Bethesda icons
- Improved contrast for Ping text, multiplayer progression text headers, and hero names.
- Controls no longer lock when the text-to-speech field is open. Fixed cases where some UI elements lost cursor focus. Added error messages and warning pop-ups for the following situations:
- Disconnecting controllers on the initial input screen
- Clients deselecting the Ready option following the host launches the game
- Players Canceling Friend Requests
- Added missing captions to archive entries for the “Giving You Tomorrow” mission briefing.
- The “Optional Details” field is no longer required when reporting another player.
User interface
- Tutorial Blades are now more responsive when multiple of them are stacked on top of each other.
- The parameters are correctly restored during the game when you cancel in the message confirming the modifications.
- Enemies no longer lose dog tag and health bar information when canceling fast travel.
- Weapon loadouts will no longer switch to the weapon inventory when starting new game sessions in quick succession.
- Shelter keys have been added to the keychain.
- The Tower Storm meter now appears more regularly in-game and on the map.
