Around 10 a.m., seven Metropolitan Police Department investigators began searching the Setagaya Daita store (in Setagaya Ward) amid heavy rain. Through the glass windows, investigators could be seen interviewing employees and checking computer screens.

The search ended just before noon, and investigators removed the cardboard boxes containing the seized items from the store.

Regarding a series of problems, in early August, the Tokyo metropolitan government investigated the vicinity of 14 stores along metropolitan roads and found that herbicide components were detected in the soil at nine stores. Eleven roadside trees were also found dead. In interviews with employees, five of the nine stores admitted to spraying herbicides and cutting trees. On the 5th of this month, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government filed a damage report on suspicion of property damage, which was received by the Metropolitan Police Department.
