Ravensburg will be the big film city in Upper Swabia from October 10th to 13th. The currently best feature-length and short films are shown in the Frauentor cinema center and in the “Linse” in Weingarten, and visitors have plenty of opportunity to meet some filmmakers in person.
Autumn time is cinema time. There are 35 films to be seen in 45 screenings over four days. Director Helga Reichert wants to bring cinema fans and filmmakers in Ravensburg and Weingarten into conversation with each other. The 4th Film Days start with the bitterly evil and fast-paced crime comedy “Kidnapping for Beginners” on October 10th, 7 p.m., in the Ravensburger Frauentorkino.
Glamorous wife goes full throttle
About the content: When the loyal accountant Adam Lansky (Christian Berkel) is about to be sidelined at the beauty company Moser shortly before his 40th anniversary, he comes up with a crazy plan: he kidnaps Evelyn (Andrea Sawatzki), his glamorous wife Boss Rob Moser (Fritz Karl). But what starts as perfect revenge turns into a disaster because Evelyn turns out to be much tougher than expected!
Following the premiere film, there will be a champagne reception and Helga Reichert welcomes this year’s jury members. They include, among others, the actor Christopher Buchholz, the Swiss filmmakers Corinne and Hansmartin Siegrist and the Ravensburg director Jürgen Bretzinger. The long list of his works includes well-known series such as Police Call 110, SOKO 5113, A Case for Two, Marienhof and some Tatort episodes.
Comedy with Sebastian Ströbel
The fans of actor Sebastian Ströbel, who has been playing the role of Markus Kofler in the ZDF series “Die Bergretter” since 2014, can be happy. As head of the Ramsau mountain rescue service, he constantly finds himself in many tricky situations on the mountain. The comedy “The Best at Last” is shown in Ravensburg. Ströbel plays 44-year-old Mads, who is mourning the loss of his great love, Jenny. The Cologne resident lives alone in an apartment that is far too large and almost empty, which he actually wanted to move into with her.
Even his dream job as an architect no longer gives him much joy. The emotional emptiness suddenly disappears when Mads accidentally meets his childhood friend René (Franziska Wulf). The single mother moves in with him together with her two children… Markus Sehr directed the romantic comedy based on the novel of the same name by Michel Birbæk.
Highlights des Festivals
Actors Christian Redl and Walter Sittler are expected, as are director Marcus O. Rosenmüller and the Apollonia Film Production team. The latter are looking forward to the screening of the fictional short film “The Trembling of the Eels”.
At the end of the film days, the two short films “Love with Substance” and “Gastro Gods” will be shown on Sunday, October 13th at 6:30 p.m. in the Frauentorkino Ravensburg.
