big changes behind this opus

The last installment of the saga Need for Speed (NFS) has been available since last month. Entitled Unbound, it received more than positive reviews. A rare fact for the Need for Speed license which has been experiencing a sharp decline in popularity for years now.

After a disappointing Heat version, it seems that Need for Speed is going up the slope with this latest installment. Unbound really leans on the cartoon side with graphics that are original to say the least.

The cars are present in number in the game with no less than 143 models. Obviously you will be able as in all Need for Speed to improve your cars and customize them to your liking.

It remains to be seen now whether the license will be able to raise its head in the coming new year.

A new opus that feels good

There was a time when the release of a new Need for Speed was an event. Countless players and enthusiasts have already got their hands on this car game just once. Since the franchise has existed, Need for Speed has never claimed to be a real car driving simulation. A real arcade game that has pleased even the pickiest of racing game players.

There are countless versions of this game that have been immensely successful, we can cite NFS Hot Pursuit, NFS Underground or even the first Need for Speed Most Wanted.

Yes, but now, over the years, the license has lost its luster and some players have turned their backs on Need for Speed. In the modern air, none of the opuses have been able to pull out of the game.

An expected change

However, everything is likely to change for NFS. Long under the control of the same Criterion studio team, the successful license should welcome big changes in the future. Indeed Matt Webster, who is none other than the former vice-president and general manager of the English studio Criterion, recently left the ship following more than 30 years of good and loyal service. In his wake, several studio executives also left.

Other actors will then take over the development of the next Need for Speed, we are talking in particular regarding Geoff Smith to lead the project. Smith to work in particular on the development of the games Dirt as well as Grid.
