A new feature is being introduced for Instagram Reels that is not yet available in TikTok.
It should be noted that the section of short videos like Tik Tok in Instagram is called Reels. Usually new features are introduced for Instagram Reels which are often already present in Tik Tok.
Instagram is testing a feature called Blend, which will create a private feed of recommendations for Reels videos for up to 2 people.
The company confirmed the feature saying that it is currently being tested internally.
When you invite a friend to Blend, Instagram will curate a feed of Reels that they think you’ll find interesting.
According to the report, a Blend feed will be based on recommendations of Reels videos that you and your friend share with each other or videos that interest you.
This feed will not be accessible to others and will be limited to 2 people, however the user can leave it at any time.
Instagram has not yet said when it might be rolled out to users.
This isn’t the only new feature Instagram is testing.
The facility of sharing files in direct message will also be provided to the users by Instagram soon.
Similarly, a feature called Friend Map is being added to Instagram, which will allow users to share real-time location with friends.
