It was the queue for the big days this morning at the headquarters of the Swatch brand in Bienne. In front of the drive-in store, the first buyers showed up several hours before opening, with the firm intention of acquiring a “Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms”, a mechanical and waterproof watch resulting from a marriage with Blancpain, another brand of the Swatch Group.

After the success of the “Moonswatch” resulting from a collaboration with Omega, the “Fifty Fathoms” is available in five models at 375 francs, inspired by the oceans.

Coming from Neuchâtel

Coming from Neuchâtel and Prêles (BE), César, Christian, Alexandre and Matéo were lucky: the store was restocked just as their turn arrived, so much so that the quartet obtained the desired blue model of a watch waterproof dives up to 91 meters.

“We arrived at 6:15 a.m. and there were already quite a few people there…”, reported five hours later the four watchmaking enthusiast students, but for whom a real “Fifty Fathoms” sold from 10,300 francs is out of reach. As they left, they glanced at the queue: “There won’t be enough watches for everyone…” they said to themselves.
