Biden wants to reduce sanctions on Venezuela “but he is afraid of politics,” says Trish Regan

Caracas.- This Saturday, American journalist Trish Regan stated on her television show that, according to some “sources”, President Joe Biden “would like to reduce sanctions on Venezuela to help lower oil prices (and get China and Russia of the region), but he is too afraid of politics.

In addition, he trilled: “Typical. These small steps will NOT help the American people or Venezuela!”

“He is looking, sources tell me, to reduce sanctions, but in typical Joe Biden fashion he is only half doing it. Not even that, this is like baby steps. Baby steps and none of it is helping Venezuelans or the American people, typical Joe Biden-style stuff,” Regan explained.

This week the international news agency AP announced that the Biden Administration will ease some economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela, in a gesture aimed at encouraging the resumption of negotiations between the opposition backed by the United States and the government of President Nicolás Maduro.

However, US officials who spoke to the AP said the limited changes will only allow Chevron Corp. to negotiate its license with state oil company PDVSA, but not to drill or export oil of Venezuelan origin.
