Biden says he will continue to work to end the war in Gaza

Washington – US President Joe Biden claimed that he will continue to work to end the war in Gaza, return Israeli prisoners, and establish peace and security in the Middle East.

This came in a speech before a Democratic Party conference held in Chicago, Illinois, yesterday, Monday.

Biden said that he and his administration are working hard to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing his hope that this will be achieved as soon as possible.

He added: “We will continue to work to end the war in Gaza, return the prisoners, and establish peace and security in the Middle East.”

He continued, “A few days ago, I proposed an agreement to reach a ceasefire and end this war” that Israel is waging on the Gaza Strip.

Biden stressed the need to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza and end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Regarding the anti-war protests that thousands of demonstrators organized in the streets of Chicago, Biden said: “The demonstrators are right, many innocent people have been killed on both sides.”

With American support, Israel waged a devastating war on Gaza, leaving about 133,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.

In contempt of the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate halt, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
