Biden in letter to Congress: Must continue the election campaign and beat Trump

– I want you to know that despite all the speculation in the press and elsewhere, I am determined to run the race and beat Donald Trump, says the letter Biden has sent to the Democrats in Congress, which is back on Monday at work following the long weekend in connection with the US National Day.

In the two-page letter, Biden writes that the question of where the Democrats will go next has been aired for over a week now, but that it is time for it to end. He emphasizes that the party has “one job” now, and that is to beat Trump in the presidential election in November.

– We have 42 days left until the national convention and 119 days until the presidential election, writes Biden in the letter, which comes from his election campaign staff.

– Any lack of determination or clarity regarding the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It is time for us to stand together, move forward as a united party and beat Trump.

Criticism has poured in following 81-year-old Biden’s performance during the first election debate once morest Trump at the end of June. Some of Biden’s party colleagues have asked him to step aside following the debate and raised concerns regarding whether he is able to compete with Trump in the November presidential election.
