Biden: I congratulated Trump on the victory and that the transfer of power will be peaceful

Biden said: “I spoke to Trump and congratulated him on his victory and assured him that I would direct my administration to work with his team for a smooth transfer of power. We accept the choice that the country made in these elections. We do not see ourselves as enemies, but rather as American citizens, and we will work to ensure the peaceful transfer of power.”

He added: “The American electoral system is fair and we trust it. We will leave behind the strongest economy in the world and the results and changes will bear fruit.”

Biden said: “We pay respect to all our workers, and the election officials who put themselves on the line from the beginning. We have to thank them for their work at the polls, counting the votes, and protecting the integrity of the elections.”

He pointed out that many of these workers are volunteers who do this “out of concern for their country,” stressing that he intends to carry out his duty as president and uphold the constitutional oath with honor.

The current American president said: “I spoke to Kamala Harris and she should be proud of her campaign. We have changed the United States for the better, the road ahead of us is clear, our economy is strong, and the situation is changing quickly.”

He stressed, “We have lost this battle, setbacks cannot be avoided, and we cannot give up. We must remain engaged and move forward.”

On Wednesday, Republican candidate Donald Trump was declared the winner, despite expectations of a long and intense struggle in the US presidential elections according to a number of leading news sources predicting the results. He won in all the major states, and then Trump addressed his supporters in Florida and announced his victory.

According to Fox News, Trump won 295 electoral votes, exceeding the required 270 votes. He was also chosen as a winner by the American Hill newspaper and the headquarters of the election forecasting service, and Time magazine featured Donald Trump’s victory speech on the cover of its second issue in November.
