Moscow. September 23rd. Interfax – US President Joe Biden said he has not yet made a decision on lifting restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons to attack Russian territory.

“No,” Biden said in response to a corresponding question from a presidential pool reporter.

On Friday, British radio station LBC reported, citing sources, that the Biden administration was concerned that changes in Ukraine’s policy on the use of long-range weapons could harm Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign.

The United States and Britain may eventually give Kyiv permission to use long-range weapons against the Russian Federation, but they will do so “in secret” and will only officially announce the decision “after the first time,” the station reported. “

The broadcaster followed other Western media outlets in saying a final decision could be made during the United Nations General Assembly this week.

Biden previously said he was considering lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons against Ukraine. U.S. Secretary of State Blinken pointed out in an interview with Sky News that the U.S. president may allow Ukraine to launch missile attacks deep into Russian territory.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin believed the United States had decided to lift restrictions on the use of ATACMS missiles from Ukraine to attack Russian territory.

Peskov pledged to respond appropriately to the possibility that Washington would allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons to attack Russian territory.
