US President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the victims of a helicopter crash in Ukraine’s Brovary region.
President Biden said in a statement yesterday (18th), “Jill (First Lady) and I express our deepest condolences to the families of all those who died in the tragic helicopter crash that occurred this morning in Ukraine.”
“This includes Interior Minister Denis Monastirski and other senior Ukrainian government officials,” he said.
“Minister Monastirski, a reformer and patriot, upheld the will of the people of Ukraine (to preserve democracy),” he said. We will continue to honor that legacy through
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also expressed condolences to the victims through a telegram that day, saying, “A terrible tragedy has occurred in Brovary, Kyiv region.”
President Zelensky ordered the Ukrainian Intelligence Service (SBU) to conduct a criminal investigation into the crash.
The SBU said it was considering several possible causes for the accident, including flight rule violations, technical malfunctions and intentional destruction of the helicopter.
