The fortress will however be used by the Germans as a detention center during the Second World War. Political prisoners, resistance resisters or hostages were locked up there. The fort now houses a place of remembrance and a small museum. To celebrate its bicentenary, unusual tours of the fort are organized this weekend and that of August 12 and 13. The opportunity to discover parts of the building generally closed to the public.
