Johannes Thingnes Bö’s Oberhof Festival has found a golden sequel. The 29-year-old Norwegian was also unbeatable in the pursuit over 12.5 km and clinched his third World Championship triumph in the third race.
Bö had so much lead that he posed before the finish line – similar to how his football-playing compatriot Erling Braut Haaland already did when celebrating a goal. “I once saw how he cheered in Germany and pointed to the opponent’s fans,” said Bö Eurosport: “I thought it was funny. I think people like such cheering gestures.”
As the best biathlete in the German Ski Association, Johannes Kühn finished sixth with three penalties (+2:27.1 minutes).
