Proportions divines
By applying millennial design principles derived from the iconic 1.618 golden section, also called “divine proportion” and used for centuries in the most harmonious compositions of art, architecture and music, Bianchet infuses perfect proportions to its ultra-modern timepieces.
For the sake of harmony, the two complications of the new Bianchet caliber are exactly positioned according to the golden triangles used to build the movement, while the architecture of the bridges originates at the central point of the tourbillon cage to follow the curves dictated by the Fibonacci spiral. The rear bridges, for their part, form concentric golden circles whose diameters respect the 1.618 ratio, while the major elements at the front of the movement, such as the tourbillon carriage, the hour wheel and the large date, are placed according to the geometric rules of the golden circles. This unique construction, which combines symmetry and asymmetry, gives the Bianchet B1.618 movement all its personality, depth and balance.

High-tech preciousness
Made of Titanium-Dust-High-Density-Carbon, an exclusive composite of carbon fibers injected with titanium powder, the case of the Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B1.618 combines the performance of a very resistant and light material with the preciousness of a noble metal.
Adding to the high density of the composite, made up of approximately 500 compressed layers of 0.03mm thick carbon fibers, titanium powder is deposited every two layers, bringing light and subtle reflections to this material from before. -guard.
The arrangement of the carbon fibers, whose orientation varies by 45 and 90 degrees between each layer, makes it possible to obtain an extremely homogeneous, dense and resistant isotropic structure, while offering unique aesthetic patterns, ennobled by the titanium particles.

The bezel with clean lines and devoid of any artifice blends into the middle, highlighting the curves of the latter with its discreet lugs, which give it its chic and elegance. The back, also in perfect continuity with the bezel and the middle, brings balance and finesse to this case with fluid shapes, the balance of which is dictated by the proportions of the golden ratio.
Only the presence of the rubber seals makes it possible to identify the limits of each element of the barrel case of the Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B1.618, so much its curves are blended and harmonious. Manufacture titanium movement
Pursuing their passion for tourbillon movements, the founders of Bianchet took up the challenge of developing their own flying tourbillon caliber, whose bridges and tourbillon cage are entirely made of titanium, and on which they introduce a large openworked date. The transparency of the skeleton construction and the handmade finishes reveal the refinement of the architecture while giving birth to the soul of the movement.
Born to counteract the force of gravity, the tourbillon mechanism invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1795 is considered one of the most prestigious complications in fine watchmaking. Bianchet’s new flying tourbillon movement turns with a precision of -4+4 seconds per day, with no bridge impeding the beauty of this fascinating piece of mechanical engineering. As if suspended in the air, the titanium tourbillon carriage, which bears the Bianchet symbol, was designed to defy gravity with style and elegance.
Supported by a ball bearing which gives it fluid rotation and unequaled precision, the Bianchet flying tourbillon continues its perpetual movement and seems to float at the heart of the openwork architecture. The adjustment of the movement, carried out in six positions, further increases the precision of the watch, regardless of the orientation in which it is placed.

Revealing the intricacies of the calendar function, the Grande Date complication of the new Bianchet movement, completely skeletonised, displays the date in a format that is both easy to read and aesthetically minimalist. A simple accent of color on the window identifies the date of the present day, without hindering the mechanical subtlety of the two discs which turn separately to the rhythm of the days. A complication invented by Lange & Söhne in 1994 that Bianchet offers in a contemporary style, revealing its mechanical ingenuity.
Two suspended arches supporting blocks of Superluminova, reminiscent of the hour markers made from the same high-tech material, are placed symmetrically on either side of the openworked dial. Already present in the Bianchet Tourbillon B1.618 Openwork model, they bring a distinctive touch to the movement, while playing with light, depth and transparency to create a modern sculptural architecture.
Entirely made in Switzerland and assembled in the Bianchet workshops in La-Chaux-De-Fonds, the caliber of the Flying Tourbillon Grande Date B1.618 is ennobled by manual finishes that enhance the beauty of its components. Particularly difficult to achieve on titanium, hand bevelling, guided by the hand of the craftsman, gives life to the contours of the bridges, reveals the shapes and gives luster to the winding parts.
Various finishing techniques bring light and changing reflections to the geometry of the bridges and highlight the sophisticated architecture of the movement, while leading the eye towards the transparency and subtleties of this double complication watch mechanism.
