COMMEMORATING the 78th Bhayangkara Day, we are reminded of many things. Good things and bad things, but how to change the bad things into improvements in ourselves.
The change is shown by the Indonesian National Police (Polri), especially bureaucratic reform. Polri enforces the law without discrimination, including daring to punish its own members who violate.
They do not hesitate to investigate and reveal it, including giving severe sanctions, in the form of dishonorable discharge or imprisonment to their members who violate the law. That is what the police are committed to in carrying out their duties and authorities as stated in Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
Before we examine this further, let us remind you of the duties and authorities of the Indonesian National Police.
