Kanyakumari: ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has started to expose the anti-people policies of the central government. In Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin flagged off the march. The journey started after the prayer meeting held at Gandhi Mandapam. The tricolor flag used throughout the journey is M.K. Rahul Gandhi accepted from Stalin.

‘Meeting steps; Bharat Jodo Yatra’s motto is ‘One Country’. The journey will last six months from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to expose the anti-people policies of the central government. 118 permanent members will accompany Rahul Gandhi throughout the journey. Regular pilgrims of each state will also march in their respective states. Rahul Gandhi will interact with people on foot.

This morning, Rahul Gandhi reached Sriperumbathur where Rajiv Gandhi died. After reaching Thiruvananthapuram airport in the afternoon, he returned to Kanyakumari by helicopter around 1 o’clock. Visited Tiruvallur Memorial, Vivekananda Memorial and Kamaraj Memorial at 3 pm. Then Rahul reached the Gandhi Mandapam and participated in the prayer meeting.

The Congress has decided to undertake the biggest political mission in the context of facing major challenges in all fields in the last eight years. Three hundred regular members accompany the Yatra. 100 permanent members appointed by AICC will join Rahul Gandhi in padayatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir for 148 days covering 3571 km. 100 members selected from each of the states that the Jodo Yatra will pass through will be part of the Padayatra till the first end in the respective states. 100 members will also be included to ensure participation in the padayatra from states that did not go through the yatra.

Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 11 in Kerala

Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter Kerala on September 11. Bharat Jodo Yatra will be given a huge welcome from Kerala border at Lekkavila. Every day from 7 am to 10 am and then from 4 pm to 7 pm, the padayatra covers a distance of 25 km through different areas. The procession will pass through the National Highway from Thiruvananthapuram to Thrissur and then from Thrissur to Nilambur through the State Highway.

From Parasala to Nilambur, Bharat Yatra covers 453 km in 19 days in Kerala. After touring Thiruvananthapuram district on 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th, it will enter Kollam district on 14th in the afternoon. The journey will pass through Kollam district on 15th and 16th and will stop at Alappuzha on 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th, Ernakulam district on 21st and 22nd, Thrissur district on 23rd, 24th and 25th and Palakkad on 26th and 27th. Will enter Malappuram district after 27th afternoon. It will pass through Malappuram district on 28th and 29th and complete the tour of Kerala and enter Karnataka.

In Kerala Parashala, Neyyattinkara, Balaramapuram, Nemam, Thiruvananthapuram City, Kazhakoottam, Attingal, Chathannoor, Iravipuram, Kollam, Chavara, Karunagappally, Kayamkulam, Haripad, Ambalapuzha, Alappuzha, Cherthala, Arur, Edappally, Kochi, Aluva, Angamaly, Chalakudy, Pudukkad, Bharat Jodoyatra will pass through 43 assembly constituencies and 12 Lok Sabha constituencies including Ollur, Thrissur, Vadakancherry, Vallathol Nagar, Shornur, Pattambi, Perunthalmanna, Vantur, Nilambur.
