The Pokémon Company arrives with a new “educational” series, to learn all regarding pocket creatures: Beyond The Pokédex.
Learn all regarding Larméléon in Beyond The Pokédex. The Pokémon Company is launching a new monthly series on its YouTube channel. Each month, Spruce and Maple will dwell on a Pokémon and tell its story, as well as many anecdotes. “With their in-depth knowledge and captivating presentation, Spruce and Maple will teach you everything you ever wanted to know regarding your favorite Pokémon”, we read in the description. For example : “Did you know that Larméléon’s tears have the power of 100 onions? ».
Moreover, as we can see in the video, the show wishes « ‘examine Pokémon through their appearances in video games, animation, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, manga, etc…”””. In view of the pocket monster chosen for the first episode (which is a starter), we can assume that only the major Pokémon of the license will be mentioned. So why not other starters (Salamèche, Germignon or even Coiffeton), legendaries or even “mascots” (Pikachu, Meowth).
Many projects for Pokémon
From December, Pokémon fans will also be able to discover a brand new series on Netflix. She is called Pokemon Janitor (or The receptionist in French) and we will follow the adventures of Haru, a young girl who works as a concierge in a resort. Its role is to welcome visitors tired from their long journeys and to take care of their Pokémon. To accompany her during her days, she can count on her faithful Psyduck.
“I’m sure we’ve all felt cornered, pressured, not wanting to get up and keep doing what we’re doing, wanting to give up. But watching Pokémon Concierge is truly therapeutic. It makes us want to try to give the best of ourselves”, explains Rena Nōnen, the voice actor of Haru at Kotaku. As you will have understood, this production seems to advance combat and exploration to focus on a more soothing story. In addition, she is experimenting with a whole new graphic style by moving away from Japanese animation. Indeed, this time, the show will be in motion capture (a frame-by-frame animation technique with real objects).
