I then asked the doctor what was needed and he told me that for 20 years they have been waiting for the request to establish a University Liver Transplant Clinic in Laiko. I promised him that I would solve it myself. 10 months later we met at the People’s Hospital in the context of its hundred years of operation, to announce that the process has ended and in cooperation with the EKPA and its Rector Mr. Siassos and the Medical School of Athens and its President Mr. Arkadopoulos we decided to establish of this Clinic which will now be able to carry out many such operations a year but also to teach this knowledge to students so that in the future we will have more specialists like Mr. Sotiropoulos.
Particularly moving was the moment when I saw the first two patients who underwent a liver transplant and are now completely healthy. For something like this, politics is worth it”, the post states.
