MUSIC – When a diva pays homage to another diva. This Friday, May 26, the American star Beyoncé in concert in Paris for her “Renaissance World Tour” had a word for the singer Tina Turner, who died Wednesday at the age of 83 following a long illness.

“If you’re a fan of me, you’re a fan of Tina Turner. Because I have to be honest, I wouldn’t be on this stage without Tina Turner. I want you to scream for her to feel your love”Beyoncé told her nearly 80,000 fans gathered at the Stade de France.

The crowd answered his call, as you can see in the videos above taken by the public. “I feel so lucky to have been able to see his brilliance”, she continued. And to add: “I also feel really lucky to be in Paris once more, following so many years. »

A legendary duo in 2008

The pop star had already reacted to the death of Tina Turner on her website. “My beloved queen. I love you infinitely. I am so in awe of your influence and all you have done to pave the way for us. You represent strength and resilience. You are the embodiment of power and passion (…). Thank you for all you have done”she wrote on Wednesday.

This message was accompanied by a photo of her with Tina Turner dated 2008, when the two singers had shared the Grammy Awards (as you can also see in the photo at the top of the article). They had interpreted Proud Mary, chanson by Creedence Clearwater Revival released in 1971 and covered by the duo Ike & Tina Turner.

“Tina is rock. It is the best. (…) She’s my heroine, my icon.”, had then reacted Beyoncé following their performance. And that hasn’t changed, even 15 years later.
