Beyoncé has given her approval to Kamala Harris, the US vice president and Democratic presidential hopeful for November, to use her popular song “Freedom” at her campaign events.
A source close to Harris told CNN that her team has obtained approval from the American diva’s representatives to use the song throughout her presidential campaign.
In fact, Harris already used this theme during her first official visit to her election campaign headquarters.
According to CNN, Beyoncé, who is known for maintaining strict licensing guidelines around her music, quickly gave her approval to the Harris campaign when they requested permission to use “Freedom” on Monday.
Although Beyoncé has not publicly endorsed Harris on the day President Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term, granting her permission to use “Freedom” as a campaign song indicates that the current vice president has the superstar’s support, the American network notes.
“Freedom” is a hymn to freedom and appears on Beyoncé’s 2016 album “Lemonade.”
