A British medical study warned that eating more pizza and processed foods might increase the risk of bowel cancer by up to 29%.
The study indicated that many people prefer to eat fast foods, including pizza, ready-made pasta, burgers and other fatty meals, according to the British newspaper, “Daily Express”, Thursday.
As the study said, “These ready meals and ultra-processed foods have a serious public health impact.”
The study pointed out that these foods contain a high percentage of salt and fat, which increases the possibility of developing a range of conditions that affect the cardiovascular system, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and other types of heart diseases.

In addition to the cardiovascular system, the study indicated that it may increase the risk of developing a common cancer in men.
Specifically, scientists in several researches warn that ultra-processed foods can increase the risk of colorectal cancer – also known as bowel cancer – in men by regarding 29%.

For his part, the study’s lead author, Dr. Lu Wang, said: “We started to think that colorectal cancer might be the most diet-affected type of cancer compared to other types of cancer.”
He added, “Processed meat, most of which falls into the ultra-processed food category, is a strong risk factor for colorectal cancer. Ultra-processed foods are also high in added sugars and low in fiber, which contributes to weight gain and obesity, which is a consistent risk factor.” to colon and rectal cancer.
