9 outbreaks in France in 2022

According to vigilance-moustiques.com, specific monitoring of the tiger mosquito, of tropical origin, has become necessary in recent years due to health alerts caused by this type of mosquito.

“The tiger mosquito is a potential vector of serious diseases (dengue fever, chikungunya and to a lesser extent the Zika virus), which experience regular epidemic episodes in tourist areas (and in particular in our overseas departments) which are very appreciated by French and European travellers, who therefore represent as many risk factors once returned to France, ”we can read.

In 2022, France experienced 9 epidemic outbreaks and 65 indigenous cases. But the health authorities want at all costs to avoid the Italian scenario of 2009.
