Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Until now, scientists do not know the true causes of leukemia, but it appears that it develops as a result of a combination of various genetic and environmental factors, according to the official website of the Saudi Ministry of Health.
A tweet by the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Riyadh indicated that the symptoms of leukemia differ from one patient to another, but the patient may suffer from one or more of the following symptoms:
- Symptoms of leukemia
- High temperature
- night sweats
- frequent infections
- Weight loss
- Headache
- pain in the joints
- Bleeding
- Bruises on the skin
- Lymph glands are swollen
- Fatigue
Here are the risk factors for leukemia:
- Exposure to high-energy radiation from an atomic bomb or a nuclear power plant
- Exposure to chemicals such as benzene or formaldehyde
- blood disorders
- Exposure to chemotherapy or radiation
- Genetic disorders such as Down syndrome
- Some types of viruses may cause tumors, such as hepatitis B and the AIDS virus
- Previous history of leukemia in a family member, but this is considered rare
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, and this disease caused the death of approximately 10 million people in 2020, which equates to approximately one death in every 6 deaths, according to the official website of the World Health Organization (WHO).
