The consultant explained that mouth ulcers are sometimes a symptom of oral cancer. He also warned of the following signs: Unusual bumps and swellings in the mouth and neck that do not disappear. Bleeding or numbness in the tongue or lip. Unexplained weight loss. Difficulty swallowing. Red spots or white in the mouth.
And how to check for signs of oral cancer? Ramkumar advises checking your mouth for symptoms at least once a month.
Adding, ideally, the surfaces of your mouth should be pink.
