Beware of CCMom: The AI-Generated Clothing Scam Exposed

Scammers use artificial intelligence to generate clothes and… young girls. Several victims exposed this scam by showing the difference in quality between the product received and that displayed in the advertisements.

Winter is coming and temperatures are dropping more and more. Some are looking for warm clothes, while textile companies are promoting their fall/winter collections.

So, we can see advertisements for seasonal clothing on social networks. And while some companies are completely legal, other entities try to scam those looking for winter clothing.

Indeed, as reported on X independent journalist Ulysse Thevenon, several false advertisements emanating from an entity called CCMom are currently circulating on Facebook and Instagram. In these advertisements, we can see sweaters, dresses and even jackets for children which feature very colorful and raised patterns.

At first glance, the work seems to be of quality and the prices are ridiculous: count on around twenty euros for a sweater. However, this is a scam. The clothes are all generated by artificial intelligence (Midjourney). In addition, the girls who wear these clothes are also generated by artificial intelligence.

Another element that tells us that it is a scam: the prices. As Ulysse Thevenon points out, making this type of clothing requires time and a certain amount of know-how. It is unlikely that such coins will be sold for 20 or 30 euros. Furthermore, on the CCMom site, all items are on sale (-50%, -70%) to attract potential victims.

In certain cases, the CCMom site does not deliver the ordered items. In other cases, this fraudulent site sends articles that are completely different from the advertisements. Customers (or rather victims) thus receive clothing with…printed patterns. Suffice to say that the gap between the promise and the reality is significant.

On Facebook, negative opinions are multiplying. One user warns: “ if you are considering purchasing from CCMOM, I strongly recommend that you do not. The quality is really poor. They have no intention of refunding. It took me a month and a half to get some crap delivered to me that I have to keep ».

It must be said that the item received does not really correspond to that presented in the advertisement.

Furthermore, other posts also report products received that absolutely did not correspond to the advertisements.

On Reddit, several people confirm the fact that the CCMom site is a scam. The site Trust pilot indicates an average rating of 2.2 (64% of reviews gave the CCMom site a single star, the lowest rating). Furthermore, Trustpilot states straight away: “ we have removed several fake reviews regarding this company ».

In summary, you should avoid the CCMom site at all costs. This scam also shows us once once more that artificial intelligence is regularly used to deceive and scam.
