An ad has been circulating on social media for some time. It features a photo of Normand Brathwaite who claims to have made a lot of money with Bitcoins. IT’S A SCAM!!! And the actor and host wanted to let Sophie Durocher know.
At QUB, Mr Brathwaite explained that the situation puts him “in tabar***”. What angers him most is when friends and admirers fall for it and ultimately lose their money.
“It’s terrible because we are not responsible,” he explained to Sophie Durocher. I didn’t talk regarding Bitcoins.”
Normand Brathwaite wanted to set the record straight at Sophie Durocher’s microphone and propose a solution to avoid this type of fraud, at QUB:
Normand Brathwaite claims to have raised the flag several times, but he admits straight away that it is practically impossible to find the culprits. Faced with such a situation, he maintains that the best way to avoid this type of fraud is to say out loud that it is one.
“Véronique Cloutier was the victim of that, Claude Legault was the victim of that,” lamented Mr. Brathwaite. I feel guilty for doing something I’ve never done.”
Sophie Durocher wanted to emphasize that these fraudsters exploit people’s vulnerabilities. She also launched a call for vigilance.
