Shannen Doherty, famously known for her role in the TV series “Beverly Hills”, passed away at the age of 53 following a lengthy battle with breast cancer, as reported by People magazine on Sunday, citing the publicist of the American actress.

“With a heavy heart, I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer following many years of fighting the disease,” said Leslie Sloane in a press release sent to People.
“The devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend was surrounded by her loved ones and her dog, Bowie. Her family requests privacy so they can mourn in peace,” added Leslie Sloane.
According to Variety magazine, the actress was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, went into remission in 2017, but the cancer returned and spread by 2019. She shared videos on Instagram where she discussed her illness.
